In this unique event, three creators active in the Indigenous writing and publishing worlds speak about the current state of their fields and how today's Native writers both draw from history and look toward the future.


In this special hybrid event, Weyodi OldBear joins us in person, in conversation with Patty Krawec and Lee Francis IV joining in online.

Weyodi OldBear is a citizen of the Comanche Nation and an award-winning Indigenous Futurist author, poet, game developer and Nebula Award-finalist. Her novel As Many Ships As Stars, released in October of 2024 by Android Press, received warm reviews from Publishers Weekly. Her short story “Red Lessons” was the winner of the national Imagining Indigenous Futurism Prize.
