Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs: If you have an Individual Retirement Account and are over 70 ½ years of age, you may avoid paying taxes on your annual minimum required distribution (up to a limit $100,000) by making a gift directly from your IRA to a qualified charity such as The Seattle Athenaeum. Please speak with your tax or financial advisor for professional direction, and let us know if you are planning to make such a gift so that we can contact you when the funds have arrived.
