Read Book Bans
Folio firmly believes that the free exchange of ideas is vital to preserving a free and democratic society. That is why we are dedicated to featuring banned books and authors not only during Banned Books Week but throughout the entire year.
Folio proudly champions and defends the freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment: the freedom to speak, the freedom to publish, and the freedom to read. In partnership with The American Library Association, we stand united against censorship in all its forms. We resist any attempt to suppress ideas, coerce beliefs, or punish voices that challenge conventional views on history, politics, or culture.
Celebrate this years Banned Books Week at Folio with a curated selection of programs that address the book challenges we are facing at this time. The theme this year is “Censorship Is So 1984. Read for Your Rights.”
