About the Event
Every day authors set out to write the next Great American Novel and share their works with the world. Without the help of a large publisher many are left without an audience, but not YOU!
Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum invites local self-published authors, poets, bloggers, storytellers and all wordsmiths to the stage for our inaugural open mic. Share your talents, express your creativity and mingle with fellow writers in a supportive literary setting while enjoying a complimentary beer and wine reception. Or enjoy discovering new local authors as an audience member!
The rules are simple:
- Everyone is welcome!
- Arrive at 6:30 and sign up for a time slot.
- Everyone gets their 3-5 MINUTES in the spotlight
- You don’t need to be famous to read, but you need to be self-published, we'll ask you about your book/website/tweets on stage.
- Want to sell your self-published works? You can! We'll have an authors table set up and all the wifi you need.
