Rent The Library
With three rooms and the entire library available for rental events, Folio can accommodate groups ranging from 8-200 people. Stacking chairs for large events, tables for food and display, and a kitchenette with a sink and refrigerator are included with all rentals. Our Sound system, screen, projector and Piano can be added to your rental as needed.
Folio staff will be present at all times and available to help. We will be the first ones in and the last ones to leave the building, ensuring the safety and security of all guests. We will be available to provide direction to your staff for loading in and setting-up.

Views of Elliot Bay & Pike Place Garden, seats 12 people.
$50 per hour with a 2-hour minimum.

Receptions
Seattle & Elliot Bay Rooms
More space with views of Elliot Bay. Capacity up to 150 people.
$200 per hour member rate, $250 for non members.

Speaker Events
Seattle Room
Capacity up to a 100 people standing & 85 seated. Piano, screen & sound system available.
$125 per hour member rate, $175 for non members.

Large Events
Rent Folio
Rent the entire library for a private event. Advance notice required.
$300 per hour member rate, $500 for non members.

Rental FAQs
Can I rent Folio for my wedding?
No. Folio is not available for weddings.
What about private social occasions?
Yes, Folio is available for private social events. Please note that Folio programs and member bookings take precedence.
How do I confirm my event date at Folio?
Once you've filled out the form, we will let you know your date is confirmed. A $50 deposit is required to reserve the room for your event. If your event is canceled, the deposit fee is refundable up to 72 hours prior to the date of event.
Do I need event liability insurance?
If you are booking the event as a Folio member, you do not need event insurance. If you are not a Folio member, you will need to purchase event liability insurance. Contact Event Insurance Now (800-755-1575) or The Event Helper, which specialize in single-day/special-event insurance coverage.
Does Folio have an AV system?
Yes. The rental fee for our AV system is $100. Folio staff are responsible for setting up and operating the system.
Can I host a reception or have food at my event?
Yes. Food served at your event must be obtained from a licensed caterer or grocery market that provides this service to the public.

Where do I load and unload?
Via 1st Avenue and Pike Street: Park at 1433 1st Avenue. Enter the Economy Building to the left of La Vaca. Take Elevator to 3rd floor for Folio. Take Elevator down to Atrium level for kitchen load-in.
Via the Seattle Gum Wall in Post Alley: Enter at 1st Avenue and Pike Street, just left of the Information Booth. Drive down the Alley and around the corner. The Building entrance and elevator will be on your left. Take Elevator to 3rd floor for Folio. Take Elevator to Atrium level for kitchen load-in.

Is there a minimum rental time?
Renters are charged by the hour, including time in and time out. There is a 3-hour minimum requirement for all events, except for events in the Northwest (Salish) Room, which is 2-hour minimum. If your event runs late, you will be charged for any additional time needed.
