Musical Colors: Vesper Piano Trio at Folio

Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum is proud to welcome the Vesper Piano Trio, Thomas Lee, Piano, Caitlin Kelley, violin, and Emily Hu, Cello, for their Folio debut performance.

The Trio presents a musical journey through two centuries of genre evolution; starting in the 18th century with Joseph Haydn’s Trio in A-flat Major, written during Haydn’s residency in London, it features a soulful Adagio that moves into a spirited Rondo full of the composer’s trademark wit, jumping to the vivid colors of the 21st century with Jennifer Higdon’s Piano Trio, where the Pulitzer Prize and Grammy winning composer explore the concept of "musical colors", and ending with Felix Mendelssohn’s Trio in D Minor, a quintessential Romantic masterpiece.
