About the Event

Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum is delighted to welcome Shannon Dunne for an intimate evening of traditional Irish music, dance, and storytelling.


Structured as a journey through Dunne's 25 years in the world of Irish traditional music, the program weaves together song, concertina, and dance into a single living story. Each piece offers a window into how this rich tradition is passed down through experience, mentorship, and performance, inviting audiences to feel the rhythms, stories, and movements of Irish culture from the inside.


Designed for all ages and especially welcoming to families, this is a listening-focused experience that encourages curiosity, reflection, and connection. No prior knowledge of Irish music or dance required. Musicians are welcome to bring their instruments and join Shannon for a session at the reception following the performance.
