About the Event
Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum invites you to an ethereal evening of harp music performed by Seattle’s most versatile harpist Monica Schley. This special concert features a unique program centered around Songs of Hildegard von Bingen for Harp, where Schley brings to life once again the melodies of the 12th-century mystic, composer, and saint Hildegard von Bingen, some with a modern twist!

During her lifetime, she was a renowned author of several books about religion, art, politics, philosophy, science, medicine, and herbs. Harpist, Monica Schley, has carefully arranged 20 of Hildegard’s songs for folk harp. Taken from Gregorian Chant, chord progressions and harmonies have been added to create a rich collection of harp arrangements.
