Written right here at Folio, Ghosts Rising demonstrates how people can change for the better at any age. As cancer has its final say, Maggie Callaway takes a giant leap and reaches out to her estranged and only relative. Intentionally out of touch for most of their lives, Maggie and her brother, Rupert, connect and, in the short time they have together, discover a love and essence they never thought possible. Although tragedy strikes, hope and promise prevail. When forced to accept what they had thought intolerable, the siblings go through a life-changing experience. From despair, gloom, and anguish come surprise, happiness, and new life. 

Kenn Smith retired from his psychotherapy practice and teaching in higher education, now spends his time writing on the vast human experience.  He currently has found a home at Folio, where he goes to write his second novel, together with other writers and thinkers.  He lives in Seattle with his wife, Judith Smith, and near his two children who have both taken up residence in Seattle.  He has two grandchildren who continue to be a source of fun and inspiration.
