Author Study: A Year of Reading Toni Morrison

Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum invites you to explore the works of Toni Morrison, the first African American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.

As we reflect on America's 250th anniversary and the people whose work have shaped the country, few figures are more important in its literary history. Together, her novels tell the story of America. In a time of conflict, reading her work and discussing her themes offer the potential to bridge divides, illuminate truths, and inspire action.

Join us as we initiate and encourage critical dialogue devoted to her eleven novels, which we will read chronologically.
