Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum is thrilled to welcome award winning speculative fiction author Ken Liu, in conversation with Folio librarian Lillian Dabney, to celebrate the publication of his latest novel All That We See or Seem, Book 1 of the new Julia Z series.
Ken Liu is a winner of the Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy awards for his fiction and has received top genre honors abroad in Japan, Spain, and France.
Liu's most characteristic work is the four-volume epic fantasy series, The Dandelion Dynasty, which features engineers, not wizards, as the heroes in a silkpunk world on the cusp of modernity. His debut collection of short fiction, The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories, has been translated into more than a dozen languages, followed by a second collection, The Hidden Girl and Other Stories.
