Folio is excited to welcome back Barry Andrews, author of American Sage: The Spiritual Teachings of Ralph Waldo Emerson for an in-person evening at the historic Pike Place Market. Join us for a presentation on Ralph Waldo Emerson followed by a wine reception.
Even during his lifetime, Ralph Waldo Emerson was called the Sage of Concord, a fitting title for this leader of the American Transcendentalist movement. Everything he said and wrote directly addressed the conduct of life, and, in his view, spiritual truth and mystical insight were the essence of religion. Unsurprisingly, he sought to rescue religion from dogmatism and rote rituals.
