About the Event
Before the World Cup, downtown Seattle was facing a post-pandemic identity crisis, with vacant office towers, a still-recovering retail corridor, and a workforce that hasn't fully returned. The tournament season offered a glimpse of a downtown built around gathering and shared civic pride; the newly invigorated waterfront, now connected to Pike Place Market, is helping sustain this energy into downtown's revival. The World Cup also promised a wave of lasting business and investment downtown, but for many local business owners, that promise has yet to fully materialize.
