Folio is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new collection of books on Japanese History and Culture from the library of Majorie Rombauer.
Rombauer was the first tenured female teaching faculty at the University of Washington School of Law, where she taught from 1960 to 1993. She was a noted author of multiple works on legal research and analysis and creator of the Rombauer Method, a strategy for legal research.
Her love of all things Japanese began in the 1960's, when she began to teach legal writing and research skills. She had many students from Japan who were here for the advanced law degree program (LLM) in Asian and comparative law. She visited Japan several times, both as a tourist and as a visiting law professor.
