The Folio Philosophy Club treats the love of wisdom as the shared perennial enterprise it is. We all search for ways to lead a good, responsible life. Following ancient paths, we will travel through time and place studying texts by Plato/ Socrates, Marcus Aurelius, Montaigne, Martin Buber, as well as Confucius and Chuang Tzu, and the Bhagavad Gita.

Folio Philosophy Club will meet the third Monday of each month from 2-4pm.

This month we will continue our journey with Plato/Socrates discussing Symposium.

Dover Thrift editions. (Should you prefer other editions please do choose the Benjamin Jowett translation so we can work from a shared text, even when pagination varies. If we’re so minded, we can play with a more modern translation later, as we read the Phaedo, a late dialogue.)

For November 18, please read the Symposium.
