I want to have an event at Folio. How do I get started?

Read through this FAQ to see if it can answer some of your preliminary event rental questions. Then email rentals@folioseattle.org with the following information: proposed dates and times, number of anticipated attendees, tech requirements, and whether you plan to serve food at your event.

What is your room capacity?

We have several different rooms that can be rented separately or combined with a capacity ranging from 8 to 150 people.

Is Folio available for weddings?

No. Folio is not available for weddings or wedding receptions. Visit www.banquestevent.com for a list of wedding venues.

What about other private social occasions?

Folio has limited availability for private social events. It is best to email rentals@folioseattle.org  with a brief description of your event. Please note that Folio programs and member bookings take precedence.

How do I confirm a date for my event at Folio?

Once availability is confirmed, a $50 deposit is required to reserve the room for your event. If your event is canceled, the deposit fee is refundable up to 72 hours prior to the date of event.

Do I need event liability insurance?

If you are booking the event as a Folio member, you do not need event insurance. If you are not a Folio member, you will need to purchase event liability insurance. Contact Event Insurance Now (800-755-1575) or The Event Helper, which specialize in single-day/special-event insurance coverage.

Does Folio have a sound system?

Yes. The rental fee for our sound system is $35. Folio staff are responsible for setting up and operating the system.

 

Does Folio have a projector and screen?

Yes. The rental fee for projector and screen is $35.

Can I host a reception or have food as part of my event?

Yes. Food served at your event must be obtained from a licensed caterer or grocery market that provides this service to the public. We have a list of preferred caterers but you are free to choose your own. Folio does have a loading dock for use by caterers and other vendors.

Does Folio have parking?

Both street parking and parking garages are nearby. You can find a map and parking information HERE.

 

Is there a minimum time for events?

Renters are charged by the hour, including time in and time out. There is a 3-hour minimum requirement for all events, except for events in the Northwest (Salish) Room, which is 1-hour minimum.

 

What if my event runs late?

You will be charged for any additional time needed.

What event support staff does Folio provide?

Folio staff will be present at all times. They will be the first ones in and the last ones to leave the building, ensuring the safety and security of all guests. They will be available to provide direction to your staff for loading in, setting-up, and striking.
